Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is an interesting story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where casino betting is banned. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The astonishing capital gained from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly needed to pass, there are methods around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred one armed bandits and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slots and 96 table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel compound that highlights many amenities aside from the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
