Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia casinos that reside just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, in which casino betting is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are based in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital accrued from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are apparently needed to pass, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga gambling hall never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machine games and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that highlights numerous luxuries in addition to the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight table games.
