I have been gaming on the internet or at land based gambling halls for a great many years. I have been taught, the fixation usually will take a hold of you and you will not even notice it up till you are broke. Especially if you are on a run. I have been through uncounted thousands of dollars in just a short period of time and still on occasion, I still go a bit too long. It appears you are just enjoying yourself till you make a choice to consider your loss and the blame settles in, and then you keep advising yourself "I might be able to gain the mulla back" ad infinitum. It doesn’t work. Then you get sick to your gut and the more you try the quicker you give away.
When you observe that you are ahead, Remain Ahead! When you begin to throw away, don’t convince yourself, "well just maybe 1 more" and again and again, trust me, this scheme RARELY ever works. Say you plan on betting on slot machine games, keep a value separate before starting your gambling. DON’T exceed this range, no matter how appealing. If you happen to earn, put the winnings in a different canister. Don’t bet your winnings at any cost. After you have wagered through your original predetermined range, stop. Call it quits, whether it’s on the web or in a land based casino, don’t stick at the tables or machines. At all times remember, there will be other days, another time. Obviously, this tactic usually will work for any game that you gamble on, be it bingo, poker, electronic poker, keno, chemin de fer or any other game.
Keep in mind, gambling is supposed to be enjoyable not burdensome, nauseating work! If you aren’t having fun yourself, you don’t belong there. If you cannot pay for the loss, do not ever begin.
